Elegance and fine dining is the order of the day at the Black Door, one of Newcastle’s most highly regarded restaurants.
Awarded an honour of excellence in the Harden Rèmy Awards in 2005, the fine dine restaurant provides a ‘fresh twist on classic French techniques’ combining good quality food with style and elegance.
Typical dishes include starters such as roasted squab pigeon with a risotto of chanterelles, button onions and crisp bacon, marinated loin of venison served with crisp polenta or parmesan ‘mille feuille’ with artichokes and asparagus for main course and white chocolate ice cream with gingerbread crisps and orange panna cotta, or lavender parfait served with caramelized almonds for dessert.
The popularity of the Black Door has prompted the owners to open another restaurant within the Biscuit Factory entitled Brasserie Black Door.
Open Monday-Saturday 12:00 – 2:00pm and 7:00 pm – 10:00pm.
