NewcastleGateshead Initiative provides a variety of different research services. The service has two main functions: 

To monitor the performance of the visitor economy in NewcastleGateshead in order to inform marketing strategies and tourism development.  This is done through a number of continuous and more large scale pieces of work which include:

• Monthly occupancy surveys
• Monthly attraction visitor number collection
• Economic Impact studies
• Visitor surveys
• Monitoring of investment
• Monitoring of accommodation bedstock
• Transport passenger data

Reports for all of these are available free of charge to members of NewcastleGateshead Initiative.  Alongside a number of other reports these can be found in the research library.
