NewcastleGateshead Initiative is a destination management and marketing agency.

Our vision is to promote NewcastleGateshead as a world-class place to live, learn, work, visit and invest.

We are currently looking to recruit two highly organised and motivated individuals to join our successful and experienced marketing & communications team. Both roles will play a key part in the promotion of the destination and post holders will need to be hungry to learn, motivated to succeed and have the ability to thrive in a demanding environment.


Marketing & Communications Assistant.

£16,000 - £20,000 per annum, depending upon experience (full time, permanent contract).
You will provide valuable marketing and digital support, including assisting with the delivery and evaluation of targeted marketing campaigns to promote NewcastleGateshead as a city-break destination nationally and internationally, helping to plan and evaluate promotional campaigns that raise awareness of NewcastleGateshead’s annual festivals and events programme and supporting the ongoing implementation of the company’s digital strategy; including the development and maintenance of NewcastleGateshead.com’s digital content and social media platforms.

Interview date: Monday 25 & Tuesday 26 June.


Marketing & Communications Intern.

£12,500 per annum, pro rata (full time, fixed term contract until 31 March 2013).
You will provide valuable PR and digital support, including copywriting, media visit management, media relations and the development and maintenance of NewcastleGateshead.com’s digital content, particularly in relation to key festivals and events. This exciting graduate-level opportunity offers a challenging and rewarding role; an excellent first step on the career ladder; broad experience in a dynamic marketing and communications organisation and exposure to a whole network of regional and national contacts and partners.

Interview date: Monday 25 & Tuesday 26 June.

Both post holders will need to possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, be highly articulate with first-rate interpersonal skills and be able to demonstrate a passion for NewcastleGateshead.
