UKAIS 2005 - 10th Annual Conference Information Systems ‘Unplugged’ Developing Relevant Research School of Informatics, Northumbria University, Newcastle upon Tyne, UK ![]() The UKAIS conference is the premiere academic event in the Information Systems calendar within the UK and attracts leading academics and researchers from the UK and overseas. This year we would like to increase the involvement of both private and public sector information systems professionals and practitioners to both provoke and develop an important debate aimed at exploring the interaction between research and practice, researchers and practitioners. Key issues in this conference will focus on how researcher and practitioner communities can mutually benefit through the development of innovative and relevant research programmes; develop and publish useful theories and concepts; devise practical frameworks and methodologies; examine, disseminate and guide best practice. A key ambition will be to make published IS research and discourse more accessible to all relevant constituencies within a greater spirit of co-operative inquiry. The conference will take place on Northumbria University's city centre campus, with the conference dinner held at The Sage Gateshead, the new international music centre on Gateshead Quays, close to BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art and the Gateshead Millennium Bridge. Provisional Programme is now available - click here to view. Keynote Speakers Professor Brian Fitzgerald, (Frederick A Krehbiel II Chair in Innovation in Global Business & Technology, University of Limerick) Professor Joe Peppard, (Chair in Information Systems, Loughborough University) Andrew Clayson, (Director of Product Management, Sage (UK) Ltd.). The conference will also have panel discussion sessions comprising leading IS academics and senior level IS professionals.
