The latest purpose-built music venue to hit NewcastleGateshead – and what a cracker.
The main room holds 2,000 people and is the place you‘ll catch bands such as The Streets, Arctic Monkeys and artists such as Corinne Bailey Rae and Richard Ashcroft. They also have a smaller, upstairs room where you can catch bands determined to make it as The Next Big Thing.
From A1: On A1, follow signposts to Newcastle Upon Tyne and then for Newcastle City Centre. At the Cow Hill Interchange branch left signposted City North and West. At traffic signals turn right, cross road bridge and continue following signs for City Centre, Gateshead. At Gallowgate Roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the A189 (signposted The South, Gateshead) and turn left onto Westgate Road. At traffic signals continue forward onto Westgate Road. Carling Academy Newcastle is on corner of Westgate Road/Clayton Street.
