Alnwick Garden

One of the most exciting contemporary gardens of recent years. It was officially opened in 2002 and even now is only halfway to completion although it is an absolute ‘must see’.

Its principal feature is the Grand Cascade, the largest of its kind in the UK with 7,260 gallons of water per minute tumbling down it at peak flow. With many stunning gardens including a Poison garden, woodlands, ponds, cherry orchard, visitor centre and restaurant plus one of the largest tree houses ever built, Alnwick Garden is known the world over.

By car and coach: Take the A1 junction north of Alnwick signposted to Denwick following the yellow signs on the A1. Brown tourist signs then direct you to The Garden. By train: Alnmouth is the nearest railway station (4 miles away) on the main London to Edinburgh east coast route. By bus: There are regular bus services connecting Alnwick with Newcastle and surrounding towns.
