EAT!NG - Secret Paladares

Our mysterious EAT!NG - A Secret Restaurant pops up with a new twist.

In 2007 we opened the world's first Michelin starred guerrilla restaurant, in 2008 mystified
diners were whisked to Longsands Beach on a London Routemaster bus for a South American themed fiesta.

This year we're opening not one but 10 secret restaurants! Inspired by the family-hosted
restaurants common in Cuba, EAT!NG - 10 Secret Paladares will twin home chefs with local restaurants to perfect their skills before you come and dine at their homes.

The locations remain secret until the day of your reservation but we can tell you that our
Paladares owners have come from around the world to settle in NewcastleGateshead. So as well as Cuban dishes you will be able to choose from authentic regional Indian and Chinese cuisines, real home Italian cooking, Jewish and Colombian specialities and more... as well as some good old Geordie gastronomy.

Secret Paladares: Chinese, 15-16 May, 8pm Location: NE6 The biggest country in the world has created many cuisines, one of them can be enjoyed at this Paladares. Bring your own drinks (Asian beer only.) Suitable for vegetarians.

Secret Paladares: Cuban, 15-16 May, 7.30pm Location: NE13 The furthest Cuban Paladares from Havana; the birthplace of the concept. Bring your own drinks (beer only.) NOT suitable for vegetarians.

Secret Paladares: Geordie, 12-14 May, 7-8pm Location: NE30 The hardest Paladares to find is the one serving great Geordie home gastronomy. Bring your own drinks. Suitable for vegetarians.

Secret Paladares: Colombian, 14-15 May, 7.30pm Location: NE4 The youngest Paladares chef learnt to cook, like most Colombians, at her mothers side at the age of 10. Bring your own drinks. Suitable for vegetarians.

Secret Paladares: Jewish, 13-14 May, 7-8pm Location: SR7 The most famous Paladares chef isn't known for cooking rarely seen and fascinating Jewish cuisine. Bring your own drinks. NOT suitable for vegetarians.

Secret Paladares: Pakistani, 11-12 May, 7.30pm Location: NE4 The spiciest Paladares uses rare Punjabi ingredients not found in commercial restaurants. Please note that as a Muslim household, alcohol is NOT permitted at this Paladares. Suitable for vegetarians.

Secret Paladares: Nigerian, 13-14 May, 7-8pm Location: NE4 The smallest Paladares has a warm welcome and true, uncompromised Nigerian cooking. Bring your own drinks (preferably Nigerian beer!) NOT suitable for vegetarians.

Secret Paladares: Indian, 11-12 May, 7-8pm Location: NE3 The most popular cuisine in Britain would never be found in India, this Keralan Paladares proves it. Bring your own drinks. Suitable for vegetarians.

Secret Paladares: Bosnian, 15-16 May, 7.30pm Location: NE7 The last Paladares uses traditional Mediterranean cooking pots similar to ones found by archaeologists at Hadrian's Wall. Bring your own drinks. Suitable for vegetarians.
