Brand new for 2009 and completely unmissable - welcome to the Food Adventure Playground. A magical other-world where food becomes fantastic and fun, a smorgasbord of delights so wild and whacky, you won't know where to start.

Perhaps you could learn to blend spice like a pro with Ravel Restaurant, make fresh pasta or cook a Geordie classic in one of the many workshops. If you're a youngster you might prefer to make some edible jewellery. You could enter Trees Can't Dance's fiery World of Chillies, confound your senses with one of Centre for Life's eccentric experiments, or paint a chocolate art masterpiece with Davenport Chocolates.

If you're feeling physical you could Fling-a-Flatbread with Flatbread Café or don a fat chef's costume for the It's a Knockout-style Stockpot Game. Take the Foodie Quiz and win win win, name the chickens from Bill Quay Farm and guess which rooster laid which egg, solve the giant animal jigsaws or spin the wheel of seasonality or...

Come and find out. The Food Adventure Playground will drink you in, chew you up and spit you out feeling like a true Foodie!
