For a magical and delightful evening filled with enchantment, wonder and mystery, wrap up warm and head for two of NewcastleGateshead’s finest parks this December. These unique events will use performance, light and sound to intrigue and bring warmth to the coldest winter night. Enchanted Parks is a free event; however you must reserve your place prior to the event as spaces are limited, see below for more information. Ticket availability is now limited.

Enchanted Parks

Over two weekends artistic director Geraldine Pilgrim, who recently dazzled visitors with her installation in Picture House at Belsay Hall, is transforming Newcastle’s Leazes Park and Saltwell Park in Gateshead. As you go on a journey, inspired by the history and dreamlike memories of these familiar spaces, the parks will come alive at night with evocative and haunting images. Ice skaters and tea dancers, candlelit choirs and sleeping gardeners will work their magic spell!

Geraldine Pilgrim and her team are inspired by “the quiet beauty which pervades the parks at night, when nature seems to take over again and the sleeping parks begin to dream.“These unique performance events, rich in atmosphere, memories and visual delights, are set to mesmerise everyone who sees them.
