Epecially-commissioned artworks celebrating stories and themes of wintertime will provide a memorable and seasonal walk in Saltwell Park for all the family. The park will be transformed into a wonderful setting for after-dark fairy tales by atmospheric installations, light, sound and performance. Don't miss your chance to experience this magical event. Please note: all Enchanted Parks performances are currently sold out. We have very few returned tickets and cannot guarantee entry into the park without a pre-booked ticket.

Wish Trees for Gateshead Yoko Ono
In partnership with BALTIC and the exhibition YOKO ONO   BETWEEN THE SKY AND MY HEAD. Visitors are invited to express their hopes and dreams by writing wishes on paper and hanging them on one of the trees. Wishes from Wish Trees for Gateshead will be gathered at the end of the exhibition and sent to the IMAGINE PEACE TOWER in Videy Island, off the coast of Reykjavik in Iceland, to join other wishes from hundreds of thousands of people from around the world. A number of other external artworks by Yoko Ono will be presented as part of the Winter Festival.

Sat & Sun 17:15 – 21:30 (Sat last entry 20:10, Sun last entry 19.50)
Suitable for all ages. Wheelchair accessible. Entrance via Joicey Road. Limited parking.

Public Transport:

  • Go North East buses Nos. 1 / 2 / 21 / 22 from Pilgrim Street, Newcastle or Gateshead Interchange go to Durham Road intersection with Joicey Road.
  • Go North East buses No. 28A from Newcastle and 29 / 69 from Gateshead Interchange go to the bottom of Saltwell Road, turn left onto East Park Road and left again into Joicey Road.
