Newcastle is a great place to be a parent. There's a lot going on for the under-5s. But unless you know lots of other parents, it's not always easy to find groups or activities which appeal to you and your baby.

This booklet aims to be your first reference point whether you're looking to make new friends, try something new with your child or just fill in time on a rainy afternoon. It's been written by two local mums, Nikki McWhinnie and Louise Wilson, and there's no advertising or sponsorship so they are free to give you honest opinions of the activities on offer.
