In 2007 culture10 created a conference called "Aspiration & Perspiration - Event Management in the 21st Century". The event was hugely successful with over 100 delegates listening to a range of speakers who talked about events to aspire to as well as the practical steps required to make events happen. The feedback was incredibly positive and we are delighted to be able to announce another conference in 2008 that promises to be as good as if not better than last year!
This year we have added "Inspiration" to the mix as we have an inspirational range of speakers lined up including Peter Florence, Artistic Director of Hay Festival, the internationally renowned festival of literature. Peter will talk about how a small town can grow and sustain an international festival. Alongside Peter, we look forward to hearing from Lorna Fulton, North East Regional Coordinator of the Cultural Olympiad about the four-year programme of cultural activity created to inspire young people and encourage participation from communities across the UK and around the world, James Rebanks, Director of Policy and Strategy for Era Ltd, on the position of events and festivals with regard to their sponsorship over the next decade in the context of the changing funding climate and Charlie Henderson, Founder and Director of Carbon Neutral Newcastle who will be looking at how event organisers can reduce their carbon footprint.
